Hey everybody! Apologies for the length of time between posts, all will be explained below.

Sooooooooo, the auld passport is getting well filled with stamps and visas by now, looking good! Im typing this from Kho Phangan in the thai islands, the full moon is here in 6 days, and its the first bit of time weve had to post a blog in about 10 days.

Vietnam, where do we start? Well we did in Hanoi, which is north of the country. Coming from Laos, which was really laid back and chilled, it probably came as a bit of a shock of just how crazy 'Nam' was ! Its really crazy, especially on the roads. we have a few vids that were gonna try post so hopefully when you see them you'l understand. Wouldnt believe some of the stuff that goes on, so im not gonna even try and explain. pitures tell a thousand words they say.

We were cutting it short in Vietnam anyway, we oly had one week to get from top to bottom. So plan was to stop in Hanoi, then head south to Danang, into Hoi an, then Na trang to the beach, then Ho Chi Minh city where we would fly back to Bangkok before getting the train down to where we are now. What happened was that we did Hanoi, wanted to get out of it asap, wasnt bad but just wanted to head south. We got the overnight train down south, but Vietnam was absolutey flooded everywhere, the worst floods since 1987 apparently. the train stopped on the tracks about 5 hours from where we were meant to stop, so we had to arrange a bus to get to Danang, which is a story in itself! :) Anyway, got there eventually and headed to Hoi An where we were gonna get suits made up, but didnt bother as the quaity was so s**t.

Plan was to go down south again to Natrang, but as the roads and tracks were flooded we had to fly straight to Ho Chi Minh. Pretty disapointed about that actually coz its meant to be a savage spot, but time wasnt on our side having been held up with the trains and stuff already...........

Ho chi Minh is quite cool, a bit quieter than Hanoi up north, but still mental. While we were there we visited the Chu Ci tunells where the Vietnamese lived underground during the war with America. How these people lived down there we will never know. we were down them and they were so hot and small, and these had been widened for tourists so it was even smaller during the war. No wonder the americans hated them cos they couldnt get down them. Have to say they were really impressive, stretched for 200km and some were 10m underground. really glad we visited them.

Parts of me wished we never went to Vietnam, because i think the whole experience was a bit ruined by being washed out with rain. Woud have been so much better id imagine in better weather, but i other ways im glad we did travel it, even though it was a bit rushed. It was defo good to see, even if the whole touristy thing hasnt realy copped on in a way. Not alot of people there speak good english either so was pretty hard to communicate.

The auld interet and PC's are pretty rubbish too, so thats why the last post was such a long time ago too.

So From HCM we flew to Bangkok and got the train and boat to here, which is realy good. Had a bit of a wild one last night, very funny stories so tryig to do abit of relaxing here today cos this place is just gonna get mental before the ful moon party here in 6 days.

great to see all the fotos. great that you guys also managed to get some nice shots of something other than your ugly mugs in them...and enjoy the islands. and loads of pics of full moon please.
