1st Stop - Bangkok

Hey people!
We've finally arrived and first thing is first, Dubsdownunder has officially become four from three. We met Joey at Bangkok airport, he flew in from Melbourne yesterday morning to travel asia with us, and what a mental night we had last night.

Bangkok is absolutely mental, it's so busy, everywhere u go people are offering you stuff, but it's also well cheap. A bottle of beer is about a euro, but get double during happy hour, so two beers ( heineken, tiger or Singha, which is what ive been drinking, its lovely) only costs just over a euro. Obviously the prices vary from one place to another.

The hotel is Ok, it cost us about 30 euros for the two nights which is'nt bad and its fairly central. the places around the hotel are really busy tho, but a real culture shock. Joe says that nothing is copyright over here so theres lads with little shacks having McDonalds and Pizza Hut signs up but the places are defo not them.we've been eating thai food which is lovely. Got something off the street last night, and just had dinner there in a local place, cost us about 80c for chicken and rice stuff, with soups.

Went to Kho San (think thats how u spell it) last night. Cost us 63 Baht in a taxi, which is about 1.20 euro, felt a bit embarressed paying him that cos he drove for about 6 miles! threw him a 100, big spenders eh????

Ye Kho San id full of bars, went into a good few, and met a load of people, a nice couple from Ireland too, and we went to another bar with them, got one of them Tuk Tuks, which are like motorbike Taxis. They were mad fun, 5 of us packed into the thing. Cant really remember much after that, but had a good night. Joe had a great night, came home at 5pm today, without shoes , and had been walking around for 3 hours, not remembering a thing!

Apart from that, the weather is a bit crap, very dull, but very warm and the place smells like piss :)

Going to Chang Mai in North Thailand tomorow, so until then over and out!

Lads forget about every other beer but Chang. I think it's about 6.4% or something like that. Rocket fuel. Enjoy nice beers while ye can though, soon all ye'll be able to get will be Beer Lao. Its horrible until you compare it to Beer Lao Dark. Nasty stuff. Hope ye enjoy trekking

One more thing lads, ye seem to paying way too much. 30 euro a night should have gotten ye something ridiculously nice. Trust me, it all adds up!
