Blue Mountains with Mrs. Keane

With Ray in no state to be trekking around for the day after one too many out on the sauce the night before, it was left to myself, Jonny and Matty to travel to the Blue mountains with Anne on a glorious summers day in Sydney. The forecast for the weekend was rain when we looked during the week, but after the day we had, these weather people here in Australia should be sacked!

The blue mountains is about an hour and a half train trip west of central Sydney with nice views all the way up. There are many different regions within the blue mountains but we stopped off at Katoomba and decided that since we were tourists, we'd do the tourist thing. So we traded our train tickets in for our map and bus tour pass, grabbed a nice breakfast to set us for the day, slapped on the suncream and headed off to see the sights. And we certainly were'nt dissapointed. Every destination we stopped at had amazing views over the valleys that seemed to go on and on and on and on.........you get the point, hopefully some of our pictures will tell you the story.

We took the visit to Scenic World where we could float on air in the recently unveiled Skyway with its world first Electro-Sceni Glass Floor. We took the ride down the steepest incline Railway in the world down to a lush and hidden valley, which to be honest was probably the best part. Once there we took a stroll along the walkway through towering Jurassic rainforest. Next, and finally, we took the Cableway, taking in the breathtaking panorama of the National park with views for us over the waterfalls beneath and the main tourist attraction, the Three Sisters.

All in all, a pretty good day had by all with us being impressed by the views and the amazing weather. Very relaxing day where we could hop-on and hop-off the bus as we chose and take our time seeing the sights. I would recommend to anybody travelling to Sydney.

We hit for home in the evening a little sunburned, but all happy with the days work and we finished off with a bite to eat and a few well deserved cold beers!
