Chiang Mai - Laos

Only leaving Chiang Mai in North West Thailand, did we appreciate how nice a city it actually was. we had been trekking in the mountains most of the time since we arrived, well Thai Boxing ( the real one, not the show one) on the first night, so we dint get to see all of it. It's a really nice city, full of hustle and bustle, but so so different from Bangkok, which was welcome.

Headed for the Mekong River, which is on the Laos / Thailand border. Took 6 hours on a bus, which wasnt too bad. really glad ...

Luang Prabang & The Long Overdue Pictures

Sorry it's been a while since the last post. On the move constantly the last couple of days and it really doesn't help with the Internet being so slow. Luang Prabang at the moment in Loas. Got setup in a nice guesthouse after finishing the gruelling two day slow boat, which was made worse sitting beside the engine both days.

Luang Prabang is a really nice stop-off city along the Mekong. Very scenic with small cosy restaurants dotted along the banks. Travelling nearly two weeks now we have met some great people along the way. At the ...

Laos - The Slow Boat

The slow boat down the Mekong! What can i say except probibly the most boring experience of my life to-date. even alchol didn't manage to take the edge off it. i reckon it was more the lack of room to move around coupled with the poor view from the back of the boat and the close proximity to the uncovered Hino V8 doing bout 6k revs in 1st gear powering the "Slow boat of misery" rather than the sceanery or the people which caused the bordem but in saying that when i got the chance to chat away to the ...

Pictures Are Up At Last

Sorry for the long delay folks. There shouldn't be any problems uploading pictures from now on. I've added some photo's to some of the previous posts as well so be sure and check them out. Videos will also be up in the next day or two. Below is us at the biggest waterfall in Luang Prabang. It really was spectacular and definitely the highlight in Laos. We spent a good few hours there and went swimming in one of the crystal clear pools. Also have to thank jonny for the new christmas header on the blog, nice touch.
